Avelo Experience terms and conditions

Reservations and Payments

  1. All reservations must be made online.

  2. A deposit of half payment is required to make a reservation.

  3. Full payment must be completed 90 days prior to the start date.

  4. For trips less than 90 days in advance, a 50% deposit is required and final payment is due 30 days after booking.

  5. If dates are full, a wait list will be created.

Cancellations and Refunds

  1. All cancellations must be made via email.

  2. Refunds will be made on the following schedule:

  3. More than 120 days prior to start date - Full refund less $250 cancellation fee.

  4. More than 90 days in advance - 50% refund, or full credit if trips dates are rescheduled within 30 days of cancellation, for a start date within one year of original start date.

  5. Less than 90 days in advance - No refund, unless spots can be filled, then refund of monies paid, less $1,000 cancellation fee.

Prices, Taxes, And Surcharges

  1. Avelo Experience pricing is provided exclusive of applicable sales, or other taxes as required by law.

  2. Every effort is made to include all surcharges from service providers in the package price. If service providers add additional surcharges after reservations have been made, Avelo reserves the right to add these to the package price.

Group Bookings

  1. Groups may book during any regularly scheduled Avelo Experience (Exclusive, Adventure, or Tour) with adequate space remaining.

  2. If a group does not want other individuals/groups to be part of their Avelo Experience, they must book a Private experience.

  3. Avelo Staff and Hosts will serve as the group leader for all Avelo trip communication and program leadership prior to, and during the Avelo Experience.

  4. Avelo Staff assumes no responsibility for group organization and communication for travel to/from Maui or non-programmed time during the Avelo Experience.

  5. No discounts are given to individuals who take on group leader roles for their organization.

Adventure Travel

  1. You acknowledge that the nature of adventure travel requires flexibility and may result in changes to itineraries, accommodations, activities, food, amenities and modes of transportation due to unforeseen circumstances.

  2. You acknowledge that you will permit reasonable alterations to the Avelo Experience as described by Avelo if necessary due to weather, flight cancellations, or other actions of others outside the control of Avelo.

  3. No reimbursements, discounts or refunds will be issued for services that are missed or unused after start date due to no fault of Avelo, including your removal from a tour because of your negligence or breach of these Terms.

  4. Cancellations made by participants will result in loss of payments made.

Special Requirements

  1. Any special requirements for participation must be disclosed to Avelo at the time of booking. Avelo will use reasonable efforts to accommodate special requirements but this is not always possible given the nature of adventure travel.

  2. Any special requirements do not form part of these Terms and Conditions, or the contract between you and Avelo. Avelo is not liable for any failure to accommodate or fulfill such requirements.

  3. All food allergies and dietary restrictions must be disclosed to Avelo on requested forms prior to arrival. Avelo cannot guarantee that dietary needs or restrictions can be accommodated for by service providers operating outside the supervision of Avelo.

Participant Information

  1. Some activities and activity providers require personal information, including but not limited to age, height, weight, clothing sizes, dietary preferences, and medical information to confirm bookings.

  2. Delay in providing this information, as requested, may result in some activities not being available.

  3. This information will be used by Avelo for purposes of this Avelo Experience only.

  4. If additional Avelo Experiences are reserved, individuals must resubmit such information.

  5. Avelo will only share personal information with service providers when it is required by the provider for safety and service needs.

Participant Safety

  1. Participant safety is a primary consideration for participation in all Avelo Experience activities

  2. If at any time, a participant feels unsafe for any reason they should immediately inform their Avelo Host and/or dive instructors.

  3. Participants agree to conduct themselves in a fashion that makes them healthy, rested, and ready for full days of diving activity.

  4. Use of illegal drugs may result in immediate removal from the Avelo Experience, with no refunds being made.

Booking For Others

  1. By booking an Avelo Experience for participants other than yourself, you are assuming responsibility for all participants included on your booking, including responsibility for all associated trip payments.

  2. By booking on behalf of other persons, you represent that you have obtained all required consents. You are responsible for verifying that all information you provide on behalf of another participant is complete and accurate and Avelo will under no circumstances be liable for any errors or omissions in the information provided to complete a booking.

  3. Third Party Suppliers

  4. Avelo makes arrangements for lodging, diving, food, transportation, activity, and other independent parties (“Third Party Suppliers”) to provide you with components of your booking.

  5. Although Avelo takes all reasonable care in selecting Third Party Suppliers. However, Avelo is unable to control Third Party Suppliers, does not supervise Third Party Suppliers and therefore cannot be responsible for their acts or omissions.

  6. Services provided by Third Party Suppliers are subject to the terms and conditions imposed by these Third Party Suppliers and their liability may be limited by their terms and conditions.

  7. Avelo is not liable and will not assume responsibility for any claims, losses, damages, costs or expenses arising out of inconvenience, loss of enjoyment, upset, disappointment, distress or frustration, whether physical or mental, resulting from the act or omission of Third Party Suppliers.
